"There is no work-life balance.  We have one life.  What's most important is that you be awake for it."

Janice Marturano - Quoted in "Thrive" by Arianna Huffington

Finally!  I have always wrestled with the term work-life balance.  Taking the idea literally, I have seen people resent the entire notion of balance because they haven't been able to manage an 8 hour work day with an equal 8 hours of family or personal time (or vice versa).

I believe people are searching.  All of us desire to feel accepted, connected and joyful.  We want our lives to mean something more at work, at home and in our community.  The good news is that you don't need a million dollars or have already "made it" in your career to live your life well.  Our everyday choices and how we fulfill our relationships are what matters.

I am passionate about how people design the one life they have been given.  I am endlessly curious about the choices they make and how they use the time they have.  From flexing work schedules, to family volunteering, to house chore time-savers, I love to learn about the tools and resources people pull together to build careers and live full personal lives.  As a coach and a friend, I encourage creativity, innovation and intention.  Why let life just happen to you?

There are an infinite number of ways to create a full and rich life.  The best one is a compilation of choices that work for you and your loved ones right now.
